Springfield, Virginia - Excerpts from the Defense Logistics Agency Business Alliance Award Program
January 20, 2006 - The Merchants Company is a Subsistence Prime Vendor contractor being recognized for their outstanding support to our Mississippi and Louisiana customers, and for additional requirements occurring during the Hurricane Katrina and Rita Relief Efforts. They are located in Hattiesburg , MS , with distribution warehouses in Jackson , MS and Clanton , AL . The Merchants Company, while in the area of devastation of Hurricane Katrina, provided an uninterrupted level of service to our Defense Supply Center Philadelphia customers. In addition, The Merchants Company provided the same high level of service to the All American Taskforce, the Marine Expeditionary Unit and American Red Cross in support of military and civilian evacuees in the Hurricane afflicted area. Nominated by the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia .
